Though there are a lot of useful apps on the Android Market that we never notice due to their non visibility in the top position in each category. Groove IP works in conjunction with Google Voice and lets you make unlimited voice calls to any phone number in the U.S and Canada. The app works on both WiFi and mobile network (3G/4G) of your device which gives users more portability and allowing them to use the app as a fully fledged phone without network limitations. Users can get a free US phone number and from google.com/voice and receive calls from worldwide and also make calls to other countries at incredibly low rates. Groove IP will also manage your missed calls by forwarding them to your online voicemail and storing them with the associated Google account.

The initial configuration just requires you to sign in to Google account and you are ready to get started with free voice calling from your smartphone. The app has its own dialer but it can use your phone contacts, call log, favorites and the native dialer to keep the calling experience easy and efficient.

Groove IP allows you to adjust app settings according to your requirements like you can enable 3G/4G calling , adjust audio settings including echo cancellation, speaker volume and microphone gain and configure native dialer. If you want to enable or disable calls only to a specific country you can add an inclusion or exclusion prefix thus Groove IP will only allow calls to numbers that begin with a specific area code. Similarly you can add inclusion and exclusion numbers for only allowing or disallowing calls to a specific number. This specific feature could be really useful if do not accidently want to call a private number from Groove IP or from your mobile network. Groove IP also supports Bluetooth headset, loudspeaker, dial pad while call, mute toggle switch, Google talk status message , auto start on boot, notifications for missed calls and a lot of other advanced settings with which you can use the app in your way.
