The leather themed background takes you straight to the game when you choose the Play option and then you will be presented with random quotations from famous authors or personalities. You can answer the quotes by choosing from four available options, but if you cannot recall the author of the quote or have heard the quote for the first time, you are free to use from four available hints that can take you closer to the right answer.
Take an example of a quotation:
“Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.”
This was actually said by Bill Gates but during the quiz it is presented with three other options like Mark Zuckerberg, Al Core and Steve Jobs which are good enough to confuse you.
Just in case you feel this is difficult, you have four hints to guess the right answer.
- “ A Harvard university dropout”
- “ His kids like to tease him by singing the song Billionaire by Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars”
- “He has given at least 28 billion to charity”
- “If he was a country he would be the 37th richest country on earth”
Mark My Words comes with 800 unique quotes from multiple sources. Isn’t that a big number to keep learning something new each day for the next 2+ years? The sweet and soothing music that goes along is relaxing and pretty much gets you in the right mood.
Like every questionnaire the right answers are awarded and shown up in the summary while the wrong answers show up a red highlight over the answer. Not being able to see the right answer on choosing the wrong option is a drawback we noticed in the app, though it makes the game challenging but correcting your mistakes in the backend of your brain when you see the right answer to the quote could be an asset to users.
All in all Mark My Words makes a wonderful casual game, every trivia lover will enjoy alongside the elegant theme and simple presentation. The game is available in a free to try lite version while also being available in fully featured ad-free version for just 3 bucks which is half the price than you would be paying for a famous quotations book available on the nearest book store.
